First Washington Group has been a leader in the development of power plants for many years, bringing electricity to many developing countries in many parts of the world. In 1995, First Washington Group's Dongguan Huojie Power Plant became the first majority western-owned/operated power plant in China.

First Washington Group also owned and operated the Zheng Cheng Jiang Long Power plant in Zheng Cheng, Guangzhou, China.

First Washington also provided manufacturing security for the construction of the 600MW power plant on Luzon Island, Philippines.
